Very Effective Free Traffic Source!
Are you like most of the internet marketing world and believe you have to engage in PPC (pay-per-click) campaigns to achieve the amount of traffic that you need to run a successful online business? It is true that PPC can have a great impact on your business but it can also have a great impact on your wallet. So what are you going to do if you are just starting out and need massive amount of traffic to your site and you don’t have a huge marketing budget to help with your fund your efforts? Well there are some outstanding free (organic) traffic sources that can be your “saving grace” so to speak.
The number one thing to remember about your internet marketing campaigns is that to be successful you are going to have to have a good list of keywords. There are some really good keyword discovery tools out there but for this article we are only going to talk about “Google’s Free AdWords Keyword Tool”. You want to find some good long tail keywords (2-4 word phrases) to put into your keyword list. These keywords are usually less competitive and can provide you with the traffic generation you need for your site. A “general rule of thumb” for a qualifying keyword is one that has about 100-1000 searches a day and has less than 100,000 competing websites for that keyword. A good keyword list is a vital part to your online success!
Now that you have done your keyword research, it is time to start your marketing campaigns. First you will want to sit down and write a article for each one of your keywords (you don’t have to do all of these articles upfront you can space them out over a period of time, maybe one everyday or every other day just get started on them). Follow good SEO (search engine optimization) practices like: including your keyword in your title and placing that keyword strategically throughout your article. You want to make sure you do this right the first time so you are not wasting your time or energy and have to come back later to fix it. Once you are finished writing your articles you want to submit it to some article sites. Ezine Articles has a lot of pull with the Google rankings so it is a good place to start with submitting your article. Now you will want to build backlinks to your site (do a Google or Youtube search to find out more about this).
Ok, now that you have the “groundwork” in place, it is time to get creative with your marketing efforts. You can use the content of your article to create a video to promote your article and your website ( see my blog post about video marketing here). Once you have made a video of your content use a free service like TubeMogul to submit you video to multiple sites. Another strategy is to make a blog post about your article. WordPress and Blogger both are very good blog services that are suitable for this strategy.
Bottom line here folks, is that you can be as creative as you want to be. There are so many ways to drive free (organic) traffic to your website and all of them can produce the results that you want. But you have to put in the work for these strategies to get results.
